Chinese scientists set off from Chengdu on October 4 for Nepal, on their first cross-border survey of the August 26 glacial collapse that triggered a deadly debris flow. The team of more than 50 researchers will use drones and helicopters to trace how the ice and rock collapse turned into mudflows, providing data for rebuilding the Gyirong border port in the Xizang Autonomous Region.
