China has installed the world's largest offshore converter station in the Qingzhou sea area off Yangjiang, Guangdong Province in the country's south. The 25,000-tonne structure was shipped more than 1,000 nautical miles before being guided into place. Once operational, it will send about 6 billion kilowatt-hours of green power a year to the grid.
