Short track speed skating legend Yang Yang, who won China's first gold at the Winter Olympics and is now the vice president of the World Anti-Doping Agency, is in Aichi-Nagoya for the Asian Games. She spoke to Sports Scene's Shen Xiang about the OCA Refugee Team, her long involvement with refugee athletes, WADA’s new anti-doping measures, and China's growing role in international sports.
Yang said she was excited to see the OCA Refugee Team at the Asian Games, recalling the first Olympic Refugee Team at the 2016 Rio Olympics and the challenges refugee athletes face in continuing to train and compete.
She also said China's growing experience in hosting major events had strengthened its influence and earned greater trust in international sports, while highlighting WADA's efforts to strengthen anti-doping measures.
