Nassim's medical training in China

Himidati Nassim from the Comoros is one of a growing number of African health workers coming to China for specialist training.

Her journey is part of decades of medical exchange between China and Africa. Chinese doctors work alongside local colleagues in African hospitals, while health workers like Nassim come to China to gain new skills and expertise.

For 50 years, medical teams from China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region have worked in Africa, beginning with Niger in 1976 and later expanding to the Comoros.

Through Nassim's journey and the experiences of doctors in Niger, the Comoros and China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, we explore how this exchange is helping strengthen local medical care in Africa.

Hear their stories in this episode of Together Forward, a special feature marking the 2026 China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges.
