The 2026 Beijing Forum on Swift Response to Public Complaints will be held on October 12 and 13 at the China National Convention Center in Beijing, the capital of China. The core concept this year is "People's City, Better Life", focusing on topics such as the modernisation of digital and intelligent technologies in cities and the empowerment of urban governance. Participants from more than 70 countries and regions are expected to attend.
How can different cities explore more timely and efficient ways to respond to residents' everyday needs? CGTN Stringer hit the streets of New York City to speak with local residents about public services. Steven Hitts said that New Yorkers can seek help through 311, but he believes that the official hotline can sometimes be slow to respond, with some requests taking several weeks to resolve. Speaking about Beijing's "Swift Response to Public Complaints," Abby Cassidy said that establishing a livelihood service mechanism independent of the police system has reference value, and expressed hope that such public services can truly integrate into daily life, making urban governance more efficient and residents' lives more convenient.
