A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson on Tuesday expressed hope that the EU will work with China in the same direction and promote the sound and steady development of China-EU economic and trade relations.

Spokesperson Guo Jiakun made the remarks at a press briefing in response to a query on the EU's ongoing consideration of adjustments to its trade relations with China.

Guo said the industrial and supply chains between China and the EU are highly integrated and mutually dependent, and their economic and trade relations are mutually beneficial in nature.

He urged the EU to work with China to resolve each other's concerns through dialogue and consultation, so that the two sides can jointly keep the global industrial and supply chains stable and unimpeded.
