The Taiwan question is China's internal affair, and resolving the Taiwan question is a matter for the Chinese people themselves that brooks no external interference, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Tuesday.
Guo made the remarks at a press briefing in response to a related query.
He said the US side should implement the important common understandings reached at the meeting between the two presidents, abide by the one-China principle and the three China-US joint communiques, and act prudently on the Taiwan question.
