Amid the misty reed marshes by Yangcheng Lake, Shajiabang in Changshu, east China's Jiangsu Province is a famous historic wartime site. During the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, locals sheltered wounded New Fourth Army soldiers in the wetlands, and this episode inspired a well-known tale set in the reed marshes.
