We Talk: A Polish vlogger on the warmth of China's urban governance

Global Stringer

This year's Beijing Forum on Swift Response to Public Complaints will be held on October 12 and 13 at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. The core concept is "People's City, Better Life," with focus on topics such as modernizing digital and intelligent technologies in cities and strengthening urban governance. How are different cities exploring more timely and efficient ways to respond to resident's everyday concerns? Recently, CGTN collected a wide range of questions from people around the world about China's "Swift Response to Public Complaints" system and invited foreigners who have lived in China for a long time to share thoughts and experiences.

Piotr, a Polish vlogger who has lived in China for many years, shared his impressions of Shenzhen's government services as a foreign resident. From the confusion of his early days to now "knowing where to go and whom to ask," convenient public services have made him feel less like an outsider and more like a member of the city. Speaking of Beijing's "Swift Response to Public Complaints" system, he noted that different cities may have different systems and names; however, the core idea is similar: when residents encounter a problem, there is a clear channel to report it, someone responsible for handling it, and a sense of what will happen next.
