China has completed the main span of what will be the world's third-highest bridge, soaring 560 meters above the river below. The Tianmen Bridge, a suspension bridge with a main span of 820 meters and a total length of 1,553 meters, will also be the world's tallest six-lane steel truss suspension bridge. Built in a canyon with steep cliffs, strong gusts and temperature swings of over 15 degrees Celsius, the project used a smart cable crane system with Beidou positioning to lift its steel sections into place.
