Strong quakes in Panama damage buildings, trigger frequent aftershocks

Two powerful earthquakes, measuring magnitudes 7.6 and 6.6, struck Panama on Friday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center. Multiple aftershocks were also recorded, damaging buildings and prompting evacuations. The country's largest international airport was temporarily closed before gradually resuming operations, and subway services were also affected. Power outages occurred in six regions across the country, while the Panama Canal continued operating normally for the time being.
