The French naturalist who left his legacy in China

More than 100 years ago, French priest and naturalist Émile Licent set out on a journey across northern China. The lasting legacy of his 25 years in the country is the Musée Hoangho Paiho in Tianjin, home to the thousands upon thousands of specimens he collected during his scientific expeditions – a testament to his lifelong dedication and the century-long scientific ties between China and France.
