Flash floods hit Nepal's Gorkha district on October 11 after a landslide blocked the Budhi Gandaki River, sweeping away homes and bridges and damaging hydropower plants. Soti Khola Bridge was completely destroyed, according to Nepal's Department of Roads. As of October 12, 96 people had been rescued. However, five people remain unaccounted for, and more than 100 foreign trekkers were stranded in the affected region.
