Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé, president of the Council of the Togolese Republic, in Beijing on Tuesday. Xi said China and Togo share a common vision for friendly cooperation, with broad prospects for further development. He proposed elevating bilateral relations to a China-Togo community with a shared future for the new era.

Gnassingbé welcomed Xi's decision, saying China and Togo would work hand in hand to live up to this trust.
