US President Donald Trump insisted on Monday that Russia and Ukraine had agreed to an energy ceasefire, even as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russian strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities had continued.
Zelenskyy said Ukraine supports an energy ceasefire and would respond in kind if Russia observed it, but warned that Ukraine would respond this winter if Moscow refused. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Russia was seeking lasting peace rather than a temporary truce and that there was currently no information to announce on an energy ceasefire, while contacts were still ongoing.
