Nine decades after the victory of the Long March, virtual reality (VR) technology is bringing to life the Red Army's crucial capture of the centuries-old Luding Bridge in southwest China's Sichuan Province, offering visitors the chance to immerse themselves in this key chapter in history.
A special VR experience center in Luding County allows visitors to don a headset, take up a weapon, and march with the Red Army to reach a digital recreation of the Luding Bridge, as they join the 22 brave soldiers who fought to capture the bridge during a 20-minute immersive experience.
The center itself features a well-designed walk-through, complete with a wooden bridge structure, offering sufficient space to mimic real-life scenes. This computer-generated world thrusts users right into the heart of the action.
