Marking the 46th World Food Day on October 16, we take viewers on a journey across China to witness the vibrancy of the autumn harvest.

At Datong Lake in central China's Hunan Province, 21,000 mu (approximately 1,400 hectares) of Chinese mitten crabs are being harvested in full swing. In Jixian County, north China's Shanxi Province, late-ripening Fuji apples grown across 100,000 mu have reached their peak harvest season. Meanwhile, in Wuzhong, northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, premium-grade yams are being sorted, with yields projected to reach 4,500 kilograms per mu (equivalent to 67.5 tonnes per hectare). In Shawan City, Tacheng Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in the northwest, cotton harvesting is underway across 1.6457 million mu, accompanied by the coordinated collection of cotton stalks and the recycling of agricultural plastic film.
