The 47th World Congress of Vine and Wine & OIV General Assembly was recently held alongside the 6th China (Ningxia) International Wine Culture and Tourism Expo in Yinchuan, Ningxia. This marked the first time in its century-long history that the wine congress was held in Asia. During the event, diplomatic envoys from multiple countries visited Ningxia.
The event combined tea and wine culture, featuring in-depth discussions on a variety of topics such as empowering dialogue among civilizations through tea culture, international cooperation in the wine industry, ecological protection and distinctive agricultural development, opening-up and international communication.
The event also hosted a blind-tasting wine competition and an intangible cultural heritage exhibition featuring Ningxia's Helan inkstones, paper-cutting and embroidery. A brewing demonstration of Babao cha, the traditional Chinese "Eight Treasures" herbal tea made with dried fruit, flowers and herbs, was also showcased alongside performances of distinctive folk music and dance, allowing those present to experience Ningxia culture in an immersive way.
