In 1934, more than 130 teachers and students from the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army Military Medical School embarked on the Long March. With limited supplies and equipment carried on just a few horses, they continued their studies while treating the wounded under extraordinarily difficult conditions. They came to be known as the "School on Horseback." By the time they reached Yan'an, just over 40 remained. Their remarkable journey is a testament to courage, sacrifice and an unwavering commitment to saving lives.
