President Xi Jinping has on multiple occasions elaborated on China's commitment to the global cause of poverty reduction, stressing that poverty eradication, a global issue, is a common goal of all countries in the world, that the root cause of poverty is inadequate development, and that all countries should enjoy equal rights, equal opportunities and equal rules, regardless of their size, strength and wealth.
