China Media Group (CMG) hosted a national short and medium-length drama conference in Shanghai on October 18 and unveiled an initiative to support high-quality productions.

More than 20 projects were released, covering themes including traditional Chinese aesthetics, legal stories and social transformation.

CMG also opened a global call for short and medium-length drama scripts, including works linked to the 2026 APEC meetings in China.

A new training program will mentor young creators from concept to production.

The event showcased AI applications for script review and premiered a lighthearted comedy about young professionals, entrepreneurship and community life.

Beyond the short and medium-length drama initiatives unveiled at the conference, CMG launched its major multimedia program "China's Super OPC," which will be based in the Pudong New Area, Shanghai.

CMG's Shanghai bureau and the Pudong New Area government also signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement to deepen local collaboration.
