CGTN

01:03

A vast sea of golden foliage is drawing visitors to the desert poplar forests of Ejina Banner in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, as the region enters its prime autumn viewing season.

More than 30,000 hectares of desert poplar forests in Ejina, Alxa League, have turned brilliant shades of gold, creating a striking contrast with the blue sky and shimmering waters.

Located downstream of the Heihe River in western Inner Mongolia, Ejina is home to one of the world's three remaining major natural desert poplar forest areas. The spectacular autumn scenery has made it a popular destination for visitors from across China.
