Japan successfully launched a spacecraft on Tuesday on a mission to become the first to collect samples from one of Mars's moons and return them to Earth, potentially shedding light on the origins of the Solar System and life on Earth. The spacecraft is expected to reach Mars in August next year, when it will begin studying the planet's moon Phobos. A capsule carrying the samples is scheduled to return to Earth in 2031, NHK reported.
