The International Organization for Mediation (IOMed) celebrated its first anniversary at the headquarters in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), south China, on Tuesday, bringing together over 140 participants.
In the year since its establishment, the number of signatory or states acceding to the IOMed Convention has grown to 48, including 18 contracting states, with membership spanning Asia, Africa, Latin America, Oceania and Europe.
Over the past year, IOMed has hosted the inaugural Global Mediation Summit, carried out outreach visits to 15 countries and received more than 2,500 visitors at its headquarters. It has also rolled out mediation training for member states and platforms for case and knowledge sharing.
The IOMed will host its inaugural flagship event, the IOMed Forum, in HKSAR on December 8 to explore the future of international mediation.
