The Chinese mainland says after sanctions were imposed last year on the family business of diehard "Taiwan independence" separatist Shen Pao-yang, Shen's father kept profiting from mainland trade via another of his companies. Shen Pao-yang and Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council have alleged the sanctions aim to coerce Taiwan society and meddle in elections, but a mainland spokesperson stresses they are based on conclusive evidence.
