The death toll from a drone strike on a market on Monday in the disputed area between Sudan and South Sudan has risen to 153 and could climb further, a local official said on Wednesday.
"The number of casualties is 153, and it may increase at any time because some victims were burned to ashes. Rescuers are doing their best to recover all the bodies at Amiet Market," said Yohana Akol, interim information minister for the Abyei Special Administrative Area.
