China Post issued a set of six commemorative stamps on Thursday to mark the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Red Army in the Long March.
The stamps, titled "Embarking on the Journey," "Bloody Battle at the Xiangjiang River," "Zunyi Conference," "Fierce Battle at Lazikou Pass," "Triumphant Reunion" and "Carrying Forward the Great Long March Spirit," trace the historic campaign from its beginning through fierce battles and a pivotal turning point to final victory and the enduring legacy of the Long March spirit.
Designed by Xia Jingqiu, the collection combines depictions of intense combat, landmark historical meetings and artistic interpretations of the Long March spirit. The design process involved repeated refinements to balance historical authenticity with artistic expression, bringing key moments in the epic journey to life within the limited space of each stamp.
A total of 4.3 million sets have been planned for issuance, with the stamps available on sale for six months.
