Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, delivered an important speech during a gathering commemorating the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Red Army's Long March held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on October 22. He called on the whole Party, the entire military and Chinese people of all ethnic groups to strive for new achievements on the new Long March.
