In north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, more than 10,000 migratory birds have gathered at Zhagesitai Nur Lake in Ar Horqin Banner. Nearly 10,000 bean geese make up the largest group, sharing the lake with swans, greylag geese, ruddy shelducks and other wild ducks. The birds glide across the open water and take flight in waves, creating a spectacular sight. The wetland provides food and safe resting grounds along the East Asian migratory route, while ongoing wetland restoration and grassland protection help sustain this seasonal haven.
