Meet "XIN HAI JING 1" – China's first ultra-large trailing suction hopper dredger equipped with a distributed in-hull mud pump. It was delivered Friday in Qidong, east China's Jiangsu Province.

Think of it as a "super underwater vacuum cleaner" for the seabed. Its maximum hopper capacity: 27,929 cubic meters – enough to fill over 10 standard swimming pools in a single load. Its maximum dredging depth: 120 meters – about the height of a 40-story building.

And it's smart, equipped with a monitoring platform and an AI-powered "digital sentinel" system. It will take on major projects – from deep-sea sand extraction and deep-water port channel dredging to land reclamation and coastal protection.
