The Global Governance Initiative is important not only for sharing China's experience, but also for increasing the voice of the Global South in global governance, said Annah Zhu, associate professor at Wageningen University and Research, during the 2026 Global Governance Forum in Xiongan, Hebei Province.
Zhu noted that the initiative covers governance overall, with environmental governance being a particularly important component. She added that China is currently doing more than any other country in renewable energy tree planting and greening, and that its leadership in global governance can be seen through these environmental actions.
