China's Long March-6A rocket left a glowing, jellyfish-like trail after streaking across the sky – the kind of thing you'd swear was AI if you hadn't seen it.

It's known as the "space jellyfish" effect: sunlight catches the rocket's exhaust high above the earth, and for a few minutes the sky looks like it's lit from below.

A fleeting meeting of sunlight and spaceflight – and the oldest romance there is: humanity reaching for the stars.
