The 47th Beijing Chrysanthemum Exhibition has opened at Beihai Park, featuring more than 50,000 chrysanthemum plants in over 600 varieties. The exhibition runs through mid-November.
A cat-themed floral landscape is one of the highlights. Various plants are used to recreate the texture and color variations of the tabby cat's fur. With a front paw slightly raised and its tail upturned, the cat appears to be playing with fluttering butterflies amid layers of chrysanthemums, attracting visitors eager to take photos with it. After the exhibition, the floral installation is expected to be reused as a winter landscape.
Chrysanthemums from other parts of China are also on display, including elaborate chrysanthemum displays from Xiaolan, a town in Guangdong Province known for its chrysanthemum art, and 3,100 pots of chrysanthemums from Kaifeng, Henan Province.
The exhibition also features floral arrangements and a themed market offering chrysanthemum-inspired cultural and creative products and cultural experiences.
