The fifth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) will be held in Beijing from October 26 to 29, with the session set to study major issues concerning the full and rigorous self-governance of the Party.

Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, has stressed that establishing and putting into practice a correct view of governance performance is a long-term task that requires sustained efforts.
