China strictly abides by relevant agreements and common understandings reached with India and conducts routine border patrols and control activities to safeguard its territorial sovereignty and maintain stability in border areas, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Monday.
Guo made the remarks at a regular news briefing in response to a question about Indian allegations that Chinese forces had disturbed the peace along the border.
China and India maintain communication through diplomatic and military channels, Guo said, expressing hope that India will work with China in the same direction to jointly implement the common understandings reached between the two sides and maintain peace and tranquility in border areas through concrete actions.
