The Kaimen Festival, literally meaning the Door Opening Festival, is a traditional festival for the Dai and Blang peoples. This year it falls on October 25.

The festival marks the end of the three‑month rainy season. Local people put on traditional clothing, bring offerings to temples, pray and honour their ancestors. People also beat elephant‑foot drums and dance together. It is one of the most important cultural events on Jingmai Mountain.
