Vucic concedes defeat as Serbia faces major political shift

Aleksandar Vucic conceded defeat in Serbia's parliamentary election on October 25, acknowledging that the student-backed "Student List - Students Win" had won.

Citing preliminary results, Vucic said the "Student List - Students Win" was expected to secure between 135 and 140 seats in the 250-seat parliament, compared with about 105 for his "Aleksandar Vucic - United Serbia" coalition. The result marks a major political shift after more than a decade of political dominance by Vucic and the Serbian Progressive Party.
