Infectious diseases know no borders. A virus can travel to another part of the world on a single flight. How prepared is the world for "Disease X" from unknown pathogens?

In an interview with CGTN's Health Talk, Gao Fu, member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and virologist, stressed that more cooperation is needed.

He emphasized that competition can drive social development, but competition without cooperation cannot build a better world. As the saying goes, he said, "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together."
