China's Permanent Representative to the UN Fu Cong on Tuesday strongly urged the United States to immediately lift its embargo on Cuba and stop exerting pressure on the country. Speaking as the 81st UN General Assembly session considered the agenda item on the "necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba," he called for an end to all unilateral sanctions. He added that China would once again vote in favor of the draft resolution submitted by Cuba.
