The Democratic Republic of the Congo's Bundibugyo Ebola outbreak has surpassed 10,000 confirmed cases, with 10,060 infections and 4,887 deaths reported by the country's public health authorities as of October 27.

The outbreak, declared in May, is the largest and deadliest Ebola epidemic in the country's history. Cases linked to the outbreak have also been reported in Kenya and Nigeria, raising concerns about cross-border transmission. Health authorities face challenges including weak contact tracing, insecurity and limited access to affected communities.
