The 2026 World Life Science Conference will be held at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center, south China's Guangdong Province, from November 28 to 30, organizers announced Wednesday at a press conference.
The World Life Science Conference is one of the most prestigious, far‑reaching and influential international academic events in China's life‑science community.
Through high-level academic exchange and showcases of the latest scientific achievements, the conference aims to strengthen international collaboration and promote deeper integration between scientific and industrial innovation, addressing challenges such as major diseases, population aging, environmental pollution and resource shortages.
Gao Fu, one of the Scientific and Program Committee Chairs of the conference and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, told the press that the event will feature 10 keynote speakers, including six international scientists who are Nobel Prize, Lasker Award or Wolf Prize laureates, and four scientists from China.

The conference will also feature 33 thematic sessions. More than 200 scientists have confirmed their attendance, including 40 academicians, while the number of participating academicians is expected to exceed 50.
This year's event will further expand international collaboration through a partnership with the Galien Foundation, which will host a Galien-Nanshan forum with representatives from international pharmaceutical companies, according to Gao Fu.
The conference is also expected to explore closer industry-academia-research cooperation with companies in Guangdong, seeking to accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries into real-world applications and support the development of the life sciences and biopharmaceutical industries in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
