US Secretary of State Marco Rubio joined President Donald Trump at a campaign rally on Tuesday to show off a newly arrived oil tanker filled with Venezuelan crude that will be processed in Texas refineries.
As the president touted the large yellow and green tanker, he said to the crowd, "See that little ship out there? It's got one million barrels of oil on it from Venezuela." Trump then suggested making Venezuela the 51st US state.
Venezuela has not yet responded to this matter. But this is not the first time Trump has expressed similar views. In May, Venezuelan Acting President Delcy Rodríguez strongly rejected Trump's remarks regarding Venezuela becoming the 51st US state.
