US Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz and Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez clashed during a UN General Assembly debate on Tuesday over a resolution calling for an end to the US embargo on Cuba.

The confrontation escalated when Rodriguez approached the podium to challenge Waltz, with Waltz telling him to "back away." The exchange became so tense that UN General Assembly President Khalilur Rahman suspended the meeting. Both sides continued trading accusations after the session resumed.
