On October 26, 2026, researchers reported an exceptionally well-preserved Early Jurassic dinosaur egg found in Lufeng, Yunnan Province, southwest China. The fossil contains an embryo, and high-resolution CT scans revealed a soft shell with an extremely thin mineral layer. The discovery offers new clues to the earliest stages of dinosaur eggshell evolution.
