Swiss President Guy Parmelin has arrived in Beijing for a three-day visit to China, with trade and economic cooperation high on the agenda.

The visit comes as the two countries mark the 10th anniversary of their strategic partnership on innovation, and follows the successful conclusion of negotiations on upgrading their free trade agreement in August.

Li Chenggang, China's International Trade Representative and Vice Minister of Commerce, welcomed the Swiss president at the airport.
