At least 69 people died in a collision between a Renfe high-speed train and a stationary Iryo service near Urda in Spain's Toledo province on October 28.
Gao Nan, a passenger who was sitting by a window, recalled the terrifying moment when she felt the violent impact that came without warning and seemed to continue for 10 to 15 seconds. Looking outside, Gao could see that the train had derailed.
A preliminary investigation estimates the Renfe train was traveling at 160 to 200 km/h at impact, though the exact speed and cause remain under investigation.
