China's largest ultra-high-altitude wind power project has been connected to the grid in Nagqu City, southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region. Developed by China Energy Investment Corporation, the Jicuo Wind Farm features 18 turbines operating at altitudes of 4,850 to 5,127 meters, with specially designed 200-meter rotors to capture wind energy in thin air. The project also integrates 100 megawatts of energy storage capacity and optimized control systems to ensure stable power generation under harsh plateau conditions.
