Supermarkets in at least seven European countries reported disruptions to their refrigeration systems on Monday, with several incidents confirmed as cyberattacks.
In some stores, hackers reportedly raised freezer temperatures to as high as 50 degrees Celsius, forcing retailers to discard spoiled or potentially unsafe food.
The incidents follow a similar attack in France last month, which affected hundreds of supermarkets. No one has claimed responsibility, and investigators have yet to establish whether the attacks are connected.
