On the eve of the US midterm elections, President Donald Trump announced the reopening of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool and joked about renaming it after himself.

Much of his final scheduled public remarks before Election Day focused on the renovation, including the replacement of rusted pipes. He turned to the midterm elections only briefly, urging supporters to vote.
