CGTN

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Tuesday called for joint efforts to advance the building of a China-Myanmar community with a shared future, expressing China's support for Myanmar's political reconciliation, economic development and improvement of people's livelihoods.

Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks during a meeting with Myanmar's Minister for the Ministry of National Planning, Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Aung Kyaw Hoe in Beijing.

Wang stressed China supports Myanmar in achieving political reconciliation and supports its new government in stabilizing the situation, developing the economy, improving people's livelihoods and achieving revitalization. China will always be a strategic partner that Myanmar can rely on, he said.

Wang called on the two sides to coordinate development and security, steadily advance key projects under the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor and strengthen cooperation in energy and resources.

He also urged intensified efforts to combat online gambling and telecom fraud and prevent a resurgence of chaos in Myawaddy.

Wang expressed hope that Myanmar would take concrete measures to ensure the safety of Chinese personnel, institutions and projects in the country.
